North Richmond became home to Black families who came west in the 1940s to work the WWII shipyards and put down roots. After decades of disinvestment, much of that legacy was left boarded up.
We're bringing this block back — not by tearing down the past, but by restoring it. Adaptive reuse means new roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, ADA access, and security, while honoring what these walls have always meant.
